MeeT Jason Antony, Vegan restaurant & retail owner
Jason Anthony is co-owner of MeeT vegan restaurants in Vancouver with his wife Linda and friend Ivo. Their mission is to help transition the mainstream to eating more plant-based foods in a friendly, accepting, and engaging venue. They have spent the last 20 years in Vancouver, owning and operating a total of 8 restaurants and organic grocery stores throughout the city. Jason is also founded Vegan Supply and their newest project Friend & Faux. Jason’s vision for the world: a thriving vegan lifestyle and interacting differently with the world, to be part of the solution.
At age 25, Jason was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. The GI Doctors told him he would have it for life and that his food choices didn’t matter. But this didn’t resonate with him as he knew remission was possible. After reading Dr. Gottschall’s book, Breaking the Vicious Cycle, he changed his diet and got results. This started Jason on a healing path that took many twists and turns which led him to being one of Canada’s most ambitious and ground-breaking Vegan entrepreneurs.
On today’s podcast, Jason shares just how powerful the human body is in repairing and rebuilding itself. He teaches you how to reframe your relationship with food and how eating is truly a spiritual practice. Jason also raises the important differences between a plant-based and vegan lifestyle and how to support and grow small local vegan communities for the betterment of all.
