EPISODE #124

Maxime Sigouin

Thriving beyond loss: Maxime Sigouin’s fit vegan revolution

the interconnectedness of intellectual, physical, mental, and emotional health, and how the wellbeing of Indigenous communities in Canada is essential for all living beings and the land.

In this compelling episode, our host, Nicolette, engages in a profound conversation with Maxime Sigouin, the visionary founder of Fit Vegan. Maxime's personal journey is marked by the loss of his grandfather at the age of 63 and his ex-fiancée at 39, both succumbing to bone and breast cancer, respectively. Having spent over 4.5 years as a caregiver, Maxime witnessed firsthand the toll that losing health takes on a loved one – the diminished ability to relish life fully, and the stark reality of the true cost of compromised well-being.

Motivated by these experiences, Maxime embarked on a mission to empower individuals to safeguard their bodies from preventable and reversible chronic illnesses. He champions the transformative potential of adopting a whole-food, plant-based diet coupled with an active lifestyle. Maxime has set ambitious goals – aiming to assist 10,000 people in achieving leanness, thriving, and disease-proofing their bodies on plants by 2033, and an astounding 1,000,000 by 2050.

At the day’s end, everyone has the same 24 hours. The key differentiator lies in how individuals prioritize their commitments. Those who manage to work out, run a business, and excel in their family roles have made health and fitness a higher priority. Perhaps they allocate less time to Netflix or minimize downtime, focusing instead on their well-being, enabling them to actively participate in their children’s lives and advance their careers or businesses. Each person’s list varies, but the commonality is the order in which priorities are arranged. By delving into specifics and prompting questions, we can elevate the awareness of suppressed challenges. It’s a moment of realization where individuals recognize the need for proactive steps to address these issues.
